God has placed our church in a strategic location in order to minister to our community. While many churches focus their mission efforts in other countries, we believe that Tallahassee is also a mission field. As believers in Christ, we are called to spread the gospel in every opportunity given to us by God, whether at work, amongst family and friends, or where ever life may take us. We promote the idea that every church member is a missionary wherever they go.
Below are just some of the ways that we minister to our community:
Mary and Martha Missions Group
This group is led by Rodney Kittrell and Inez Peterson; they meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am in the Annex.
WFRF Faith Radio
Faith Radio is broadcast on 105.7 FM and serves Tallahassee and outlying areas of the Big Bend, South Georgia, and parts of South Alabama. Our past week’s service can be heard on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m..
Nighttime Women’s Ministry Missions Group
Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Annex. This group has hosted a luncheon/tea for homeless women in Tallahassee (residents of the Shelter, Chelsea House and Hope Community). They support other missions by cutting and washing t-shirt strips to help victims of human trafficking, praying for mission groups, collecting items for the Women's Pregnancy Center and sending cards of encouragement to those serving on mission trips. They put together cookie tins at Christmas and distribute them to places like: the homeless shelter, Florida Baptist Children's Home, Chelsea House, Hospice House, and Refuge House, etc.
Florida Baptist Children’s Home (Local)
Florida Baptist Children’s Home is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides safe, stable, Christian homes for boys and girls who have been neglected, misdirected, abandoned, abused, or caught up in family turmoil. Offering received on Mother’s day for ministry.
A Women’s Pregnancy Center
A Women's Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization that provides free and confidential services to women and men facing possible unplanned pregnancy. Join WALK for LIFE in raising funds so they can continue sharing the good news of Christ's forgiveness and the hope of a bright future with women and men facing crisis pregnancies.
College Life
Immanuel Baptist College Life group has engaged in service projects in and around our community such as general maintenance and clean up at a sister church in the area, feeding brothers and sisters from our local homeless shelter and helping senior citizens in daily life projects.
